Crystal clear solution to carbon emissions?

A better idea to cleaning the atmosphere than genetically modifying trees – harness the power of a naturally occurring rock to filter the CO2 into its original components, quickly and cleanly.

Building better biodomes

Let’s face it, man has made a mess of the planet. He’s raped and pillaged its natural resources and left a toxic legacy that future generations may not even survive, let alone figure out ways to deal with. There is a lot of discussion about the problem, but little in terms of real solutions to the problem itself. Maybe we need a better biodome?

Global dimming: The dark side of global warming

A fascinating piece on Global Dimming – the fact that since 1960 the amount of sunlight reaching the surface has actually fallen by around 28% (yes, really) – and its effect on Global Warming.

Europe may face hurricanes

At present hurricanes, originating far out in the Atlantic, blow westwards towards the Caribbean and Americas Gulf coast, and leave Europes coastline unscathed. Now scientists warn that climate change means that the Mediterranean is warming up so much it stores enough heat to trigger the formation of its own hurricanes.

The global warming jigsaw: The Sun

Most leading climate experts don’t agree with Henrik Svensmark, the 49-year-old director of the Center for Sun-Climate Research at the Danish National Space Center in Copenhagen. His studies show that cosmic rays trigger cloud formation, suggesting that a high level of solar activity—which suppresses the flow of cosmic rays striking the atmosphere—could result in fewer clouds and a warmer planet.
