bad luck, having exactly the same prob, installing Office 2010 over an older Office 2010 (pre-RTM)

Got exactly the same annoying chosers missing various files from \Office.en-us.

I tried all these tricks uninstall completely Skype (didnot help), turnoff my firewall (Comodo) - not helped, open the missing fies from Office.en-us - not helped, deleting particular registry keys - not helped

If you've installed Windows Vista or 7 on a computer without formatting and it use to have an operating system with Office installed, the folder called 'MSOCache' might exist on the C: drive still. You'll need to rename it to MSOCache1 or something different.

Jah cracked it on March 23, 2010 at 19:24!

Took hours for me to figure it out but for some reason you can’t install from the desktop. The solution is to copy the entire Office folder to

My Computer – Administrator’s Documents.

After it is copied simply run the setup file from that location. IMPORTANT: REPEAT….Must run setup from the Administrator’s Documents location in “My Computer.”
I hope this works.

It worked for me yiiipii !!

Hi Rashed, Mukesh & Joseph.

Lindsay (previous comment) has an interesting idea - clean out your registry using the tool suggested. I don't guarantee this will work, but it's another possible solution to try to the others listed in these comments.
