Twitter

Hi there and thanks for visiting from my Twitter stream. I am guessing you’re here because you want to find out a little more about who I am and if I’m worth following? So, here’s a sound-bite about me …

Tweets

I tweet a few times a day – about 5 or 6 on average. My philosophy for Twitter is “accelerating serendipity” so I am always on the lookout for new ideas, usually Internet-related, but also covering other issues such as the environment and innovation in general. I follow people who generally share something interesting with the world and I hope I share something interesting too. I am open to random conversation at times too.

For a helicopter view of my tweet-stream, feel free to visit www.tweet3d.com (which I created a while ago). It’s a mashup between Twitter’s RSS feeds and a 3D Flash plugin.

Life

I’ve been in the web business since 1996 when I worked for BAeSEMA on their strategic plans for their intranet, and in the IT business for about 20+ years too. Since ’96 I’ve worked on numerous blue-chip web projects and now run my own company called Emissary Consulting doing much the same. I have recently launched our own proprietary content management system which is being used by a number of clients from legal firms to online retailers to IT companies.

In parallel with my IT career I have also been an event manager, both independently and for companies I worked for. Events have ranged from immersive, character-based murder mysteries for a dozen or so players which I wrote and co-wrote, through to live action role play events for thousands of people, through to corporate dinner dance events for a few hundred. I love the energy of running an event – and the “aftershow” is not bad either ;) I’d like to turn my writing/producing talents to film or TV, but that’s “off topic” for this page.

I also run a Lebanese restaurant and international deli in Weybridge, Surrey called Meejana and can often be found supping an espresso and working virtually there. We received a rave review in the Surrey Occasions magazine in December as well a the Customer Excellence Award. Feel free to say “hi” if you’re in the neighbourhood.

As a footnote, I am interested in environmental and other global conditions of our society. I blog about these from time to time at my personal blog.
